Earlier this week, St Francis were lucky enough to have a real author called Miles Salter come to visit our school. Year 4 had a 25 minute slot where he talked about how fun and rewarding reading and writing can be!
Here are some pictures of our visit. Can anyone remember any tips Miles gave us to improve our reading and writing?

As he started, they went down a slide and it was called the death slide. When they came out of the death slide they were in death ocean. Suddenly a colossal shark came it was called BEAST SHARK! Quickly Grover said, “Look out!” Aggressively Annabeth shouted, “Go away beast shark!” Just then something peculiar happened, a bow an arrow was sticking through beast sharks head he was dead but just ten standing there was Clarisse. “Thank you so much Clarisse.” said Percy. Then in the ocean the beast got up. Finally he went to kill all his victims.

As he started , they walked out of the room . Percy threw some water at the two witches and they evaporated into thin air. “5 left ,”said Annabeth. Grover nodded miserably. “What’s up?” asked Percy. Grover raised his eyebrows . ” Oh,” said Percy. Suddenly a glass cone came and landed on the floor. “A witch!” screamed Annabeth! Percy ran after the witch with Riptide in his hand. The witch turned around and put a curse on him! He got thrown into the air and he dropped Riptide. The witch prepared to strike Percy! But Annabeth shot a arrow at her. The witch exploded into dust!

As he started they joined in dancing in the disco ,Dan was having a good time. After the conga the Macarena came on but the DJ remixed the song so it wasn’t the same. Dan and his friends had a good night so on the way home they got a McDonald’s. Dan got his usual ,double cheese burger with fries and coke. From there Dan and his friends walked from McDonald’s at five lane ends ,they were tired, dizzy and cold. When Dan got home all he wanted to do was get a cup of tea and get in his warm,comfy ,cuddly,snuggly big bed.

One day a little boy called Tommy went out into the forest with his two friends James and Flynn. Suddenly they all saw a saw and wood lying on the ground. They dared each other to cut the wood. Everyone of them said no except Tommy so as he started they all cheered. But sadly he pricked his finger on a prickly plant. So he went home and put cold water on it and it immediatly stopped. So then they all went to the park and went on the swings, slide and round about. Tommy, James and Flynn really, really enjoyed themselves.

One snowy day I was walking along the beach then, my mum said “were having a celebration.” Also were having a red cake . I was very nervous because I don’t know any of these people . So I opened the shed and played on the beach and played bat and ball with my friend Olivia. Then I saw Santa on his sleigh doing a very strange voice . I said ”mum, dad Santa’s delivering presents for us.” Then I walked into the sea to see Santa. Then I went to play before the Christmas party. I LOVE CHRISTMAS DAY …..MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!!
