In RE this week we have been looking in detail about the story of Jonah and the Whale. We learned how Jonah was asked by God to go to the city, but refused and tried to escape on a boat. Goad caused a huge storm and, when they found out it was Jonah’s fault, the sailors threw Jonah overboard! A huge whale swallowed Jonah and he stayed in it’s belly for three days and nights until the whale coughed him up onto a beach. When God asked Jonah to go to the city a second time, Jonah agreed.

We thought about questions such as:

– Why did Jonah disobey God?

– Why did Jonah admit the storm was his fault?

– Why did Jonah agree to go to the city in the end?

– What is the message of the story?

  1. jonah disobad god because he was scard that if he went to the city of ninivah he mite get hert. Also Jonah admited that the stom was his falt because he knew if he had lide he would make the stom wers he said ” throw me off the ship”. jonah agred to go to the city the second time because he knew he did rong in the first place. the messige of this story is that god will give us a second chance.
