Last Friday, Year 3 and 4 visited Magna Science Centre. We had a fantastic day exploring the earth, fire, water and air zones, as well as a really exciting workshop about solids and liquids. We will be writing some recounts of our visit, but firstly, here are some pictures of our day!
Today is Children in Need Day and to raise money, Year 4 have paid a pound to bring in their own toys to play with. They are having a lot of fun and it is great to see the children all playing such a variety of games together, such as ‘Fishing Game’, ‘Pop to the Shops’ and ‘Kerplunk’!
Here are some pictures of our day:
Just look at how hard Year 4 were working today! This photograph was taken during maths, while we were doing some work on perimeter.
Later in the day in literacy, we discussed what makes headlines effective in newspaper reports. What different techniques of writing can we use?
What type of technique does the writing below use? How do you know?
There was drama on the playground earlier this week, when a goose flew onto the playground! Unfortunately, it caused an early end to playtime, but we were all very excited about our visitor! Although the RSPCA were called, the goose finally flew away by itself. Perhaps it got lonely and just wanted some friends!
Does anyone know what type of goose it was, and any information about it?
On Thursday morning Year 4 performed our first class worship of the school year. Our theme was Jonah and the Whale, and we performed a role play, as well as talking about the messages of the story.
The children were all fantastic and read and acted their parts brilliantly. I am so proud of the hard work they put in and we had great feedback from parents, staff and children other classes!
Well done Year 4 for all your hard work!
